Hotel Guncha Dalhousie is a 3 star hotel with 13 rooms. The location is a favourite with many holiday and vacation makers from within India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Gujarat, New Delhi as well as international travellers from Germany, Netherlands, US and other parts of Europe. Our guests also like to consider vacation packages or package holidays as well as personalised stays according to specific preferences where available. Here at Hotel Guncha tariffs are mid range to higher end dependant on the location of the room, size of room, size of terraces and views offered. There are a range of choices that are available to select from.
Hotel Guncha offers a selection of services that provide guests with a homely and more personalised stay. The services offered include, in house dining, complimentary car parking for hotel guests only, complimentary wifi, room service from 6am to 10pm, a pure vegetarian selection of food and panoramic views across the Himalaya. Our reception hours are 6am to 11pm, night staff remains on the premises and are available if necessary.

What are the rooms like in Hotel Guncha?
Hotel Guncha is an intimate hotel that has a selection of 13 en suite rooms, most rooms have attached terraces that walk out towards the view of the Himalaya. Rooms located on the top floor are large and spacious offering some of the best panoramic views. The rooms were built in the 1990’s, the top level ensuite rooms are large and spacious in comparison to the newer hotels in Dalhousie.
Hotel Guncha’s rooms are carved out of the hillside in which the use of stone has been applied that was excavated from the levelling of the hill. This stone has been used in parts of the property.
Hotel Guncha's rooms offer basic facilities such as, all rooms are ensuite, rooms include large king sized beds which are very spacious to sleep on, medium to hard mattresses, telephone intercom, some rooms have tv’s, fridge, small living room area, cupboards. The rooms are accessible via traditional key system. The middle level of rooms of Hotel Guncha are accessible via stairs that may be slightly steep for some individuals and in this case we would suggest to opt for the top level room categories. All rooms have varied pricing and our room tariff will be available online from December 2021.

What are the terraces like at Hotel Guncha?
The rooms with attached terraces are large. The terraces on the top level floors specifically have large walk out railed terraces with outdoor garden seats. Guests can enjoy the adjoining terraces to their rooms at their own will.
Enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner on your room terrace.
Our guests also like to practice their meditation or yoga from their terraces at their will. Guncha's guests prefer to make the most of their stay by using the open and large outside space. The views from Guncha's terraces are panoramic and span far into the Himalaya Valley snow capped peaks.
The Himlaya's provide a natural sense of balance and rejuvenation and the best way to reap their benefit is to observe them in all their glory, to let some of their energy replenish you.

We always say that numbered years may change but views remain timeless perhaps because the predominant influence on nature is nature's itself. Humankind may have a positive or negative participation in nature however nature has her ways to self correct. The sense of timelessness through the observation of views from Hotel Guncha over the last 20 years is a small example of this beauty. Nonetheless, may we remain in harmony with creation!
Does Guncha have a restaurant?
We currently offer room service, terrace service and top level covered outdoor dining.
What type of food does Guncha offer?
Our food menu is of a continental variety and we offer only pure vegetarian cuisine. Hotel Guncha Dalhousie was one of the first Hotel’s to cater to pure vegetarian food and has remained vegetarian since it first opened its doors in the 90’s.
How long do customers usually stay at Hotel Guncha? How long should I book my stay for?
We have a range of guests that like to stay with us, the longest stay with us by our guest has been 30 days. We have more and more customers taking long weekends, 3-4 day breaks. Families also like to stay anywhere between 6-7 days and sometimes book out whole floors in order for a more personalised vacation holiday. Other lengths of stay include 10-15 days, it really depends on why you are visiting the Himalaya.
What is the best time to stay at Hotel Guncha Dalhousie?
Our guests visit all years round where weather allows, the peak season is during summer vacations and festival times, as well as long weekends.
During the summer specifically Hotel Guncha is fully booked in advance, Dalhousie can become very busy with car parking becoming a hard find. The great advantage at Hotel Guncha is that for our in house guests parking is included inter stay.
Should I book my stay in advance at Hotel Guncha, or shall I just arrive and book then?
Yes, it is advisable to ensure you make an advance payment booking to receive a confirmation along with a reserved room(s). This means that your stay will be guaranteed.
For walk in guests there is no guaranteed room availability and therefore if we are fully booked we may not be able to provide a room, cancellations are rare at Hotel Guncha. Customers may wish to consider these options at their own will.

Does Hotel Guncha offer personalised services like birthday or anniversary decor, birthday cake celebration or small party catering at the Hotel?
We have a limited selection of services that we can offer with a personalisation, please note that these services are available at an additional cost and are not included in your standard reservation at our Hotel. For example, a guest may request a birthday cake with balloons or a small party gathering this can be arranged only with 4-7 days advance notice, the cost of the service would be payable upfront. Does Hotel Guncha have a doctor on call if needed?
A Hill station or Himalaya resorts are situated in remote locations therefore we always recommend guests to ensure that our location is suitable for them to consider holiday-ing at. Where needed the local doctor can visit if required. Please note that your booking at Hotel Guncha does not include doctor call-outs, medical or medications should the need arise this would be paid by the guest directly to the concerned professional. Can I book adjoining or interconnecting family rooms at Hotel Guncha?
Absolutely, we have a handful of rooms that are situated next to each other for families to easily connect whilst on holiday. We also offer interconnecting rooms for a family of four ie; two rooms with a connecting door that keeps the kids together. Please note we have a limited capacity of family style rooms and they are fully booked very quickly, therefore we recommend to book your stay in advance and ensure you receive a confirmation from us.

When can I book my stay at Guncha?
Currently, the premises are closed however will be reopening from Spring 2022 March onward. Customers can join our waiting list to be notified first when you can book a room in advance at Guncha. Reservations will begin as early as December 2021 online. Our advance payment and reservations policy continues without any changes. During this time Guncha is streamlining its services and bringing a new face to the premises and we hope our guests make their stay a memorable one. You will find a new and improved version of the existing space.
